How this predictor works
The predictor compares your rank with the Round 1 opening and closing ranks published by JoSAA for 2026. A seat is shown as Safe when your rank is at or better than that seat's Round 1 closing rank. It is shown as Moderate when your rank is up to 15% above the closing rank, and Dream when it is up to 30% above. These bands are our own rule of thumb, because closing ranks usually rise in later rounds as seats get vacated.
Quotas, categories and PwD ranks
- Home State (HS) seats are shown only for the state of the institute. Other State (OS) seats are shown for every candidate. Special quotas for Goa (GO), Jammu & Kashmir (JK) and Ladakh (LA) appear only for candidates of those states.
- OPEN seats use the common rank (CRL). EWS, OBC-NCL, SC and ST seats use your category rank. If you belong to a reserved category, you are shown OPEN seats on your CRL as well.
- PwD seats use your PwD rank within the respective category.
- Female-only seats are shown only when you select Female. They include supernumerary seats.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use this for JEE Main 2027? Yes, as a guide. Cutoffs change every year with the number of candidates, paper difficulty and seat matrix, so treat the result as an estimate and not a guarantee.
Why do I see the same branch more than once? The same branch can have different rows for each quota, seat type and gender. Each row has its own closing rank.
Where can I verify the data? The numbers come from the Opening and Closing Ranks section of the JoSAA portal at josaa.nic.in. Always confirm with the official portal before you fill your choices.
